Getting information out quickly and accurately across a wide area isn’t just about having a connection. You also need to know the messages are secure all the way through. By using rugged displays and communications equipment along with Advantech technology, we were able to put together a solution that’s reliable, secure, and can handle all kinds of different environments.

System Requirements

The customer needed a way to share important information with tenants, from fire alarms and lift updates to events, resident notices, and power outages. Running cables through the building wasn’t really an option because of the complexity, cost, and compliance issues with retrofitting existing residential structures. What they needed was a communication method that was secure, reliable, and robust, and Advantech’s Industrial Cellular Router turned out to be a perfect fit.

System Description

The solution involved using Advantech’s industrial cellular router, the ICR-2734, combined with ruggedised displays to provide a reliable and robust residential information sharing solution. Critical services like fire alarms, power outages, and lift disruptions were communicated securely, while other information such as events and general resident notices could also be delivered seamlessly.
